The seminar's participants will get a comprehensive insight into the latest developments and advances of computer assisted surgery. Several cutting-edge categories such as segmentation, registration, robotics, simulation and rendering, as well as interventional imaging applied in orthopaedic, cardiac, abdominal, and other applications will be covered. The talks will be based on the latest proceedings of medical and computer science conferences.
This is a joint seminar between Klinikum Innenstadt and the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures & Augmented Reality.

Introduction
The topics of the seminar will cover a selection of outstanding and interesting papers of recent proceedings of important medical and computational conferences such as MICCAI - Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention. For a list of all available topics, please refer to

Examples for computer assisted surgery of joint research activities between the computer science group of Prof. Navab and the medical group of Prof. Euler. Figure 1 shows an augmented reality setup of the NARVIS project. Figure 2 is a screenshot of an enhanced laparoscopic view. Figure 3 shows an intraoperative navigation system of Medivision at Klinikum Innenstadt. Figure 4 is another screenshot of an enhanced laparoscope view for port placement in heart surgery.
